EPISODE 2:
THE GHOSTS OF THE
CASHTOWN INN
Eight miles west of Gettysburg sits the Cashtown Inn, a renowned bed & breakfast and high quality restaurant that has
been serving guests since 1815. On June 29th, 1863, the Inn was a silent witness to history as Robert E. Lee's Confederate
Army
of Northern Virginia passed en route to destiny at the Battle of
Gettysburg. In the days that followed, the Inn was a beehive of activity as the
grounds served as an encampment for Confederate soldiers, its rooms hosted
famous Confederate generals, and, after the tragedy of battle, its doors were
opened to the wounded and dying. Today's visitor cannot help but feel the
momentous history which occurred here. But many experience something more
- something unknown. Countless guests have reported strange sounds, odd feelings and wandering apparitions in the Inn's halls and
rooms. Such reports are not surprising. The ghosts of its historic past seem to have returned to the Inn, or, perhaps, they
never left. With so many reports of paranormal activity year after year, it is not surprising that the Cashtown Inn has earned a
reputation as one of the most haunted sites in the Gettysburg area. Come with us as Historic Haunts explores The Ghosts of the
Cashtown Inn.
